Virtual Assistant Coach

The Gross Error many VAs are making in their biz.

In my extensive experience as a VA and OBM, I’ve witnessed numerous VAs making “Gross Business Errors”.

In today’s era of instant gratification and the ‘less is more’ approach, social media has emerged as a go-to source for education, sometimes overshadowing traditional institutions. There’s a growing trend of devaluing accredited courses in favour of quicker degree or diploma completion, often at the expense of honing skills and gaining real-world experience.

The social media landscape has given rise to “smoke and mirror marketing success stories” designed to play upon our tendency towards comparison syndrome and self-doubt. The industry has a strong underlying current coloured by ego and misinformation. It’s important to note that not everyone in this field is disingenuous, but the need for authentic support from qualified leaders is undeniable.

Over the past few months, I’ve engaged in discussions with VAs from all corners of the globe, and one common theme resonates clearly: many online business owners are making substantial errors in laying the foundations of a solid and sustainable business. I want to support these VAs to avoid these common and easily avoidable mistakes.

Forget marketing and niche selection for a moment, and join me on a brief trip back to the pre-Internet era of “back in the good ol days.”

When starting a business with a promising idea, certain fundamental steps were (and still are) critical to opening your doors. A well-thought-out business plan, identifying your market, budget, sales predictions, and financial viability, was paramount to securing finance or investment. Armed with this plan, you’d approach a bank where its quality and your credibility could secure the financial backing needed to build your inevitable empire.

The absence of physical walls in today’s virtual businesses doesn’t negate the importance of this step because it’s the foundation on which you will build your business.

When I started my journey, one of the first things I did was jump on business.qld.gov, where I found a wealth of information. The business plan template was general, but it gave me so much direction and was instrumental to my steps.

Virtual Assistance is one of the fastest-growing and most competitive industries,  and I knew I needed to elevate myself above the competition. Having written a plan previously for my brick-and-mortar store, it helped me identify key areas from investment to long-term plans and goals. I gave myself a year to achieve certain milestones and recoup expenses, and armed with clear steps; I accomplished my goal in just three months.

Never underestimate a woman’s determination to create a new normal for herself. I haven’t invested a dollar in my business that I didn’t recoup.

I’m passionate about helping women avoid these “Gross errors” I witness daily, so I am dedicated to offering the support you seek. Business-minded, practical, efficient, and based on experience and success as a highly sought-after Online Business Manager.
